"Outstanding accommodation and brilliant hospitality, I would love to come back again for a 3rd time! The animals are lovely, especially the alpacas, Domino is my favourite but all the others are adorable as well. The chicks are nice to see and are really cute!!! The area is lovely and great for walks. There is a games room for us kids and its great to have fun in and pass the time. Vicki and Steve are very friendly and will help with anything you would like to know. Three huge cheers and thumbs up all round Vicki and Steve well done!!!!!" - Jordan aged 13 - August 2009

"Excellent accommodation - with everything we needed (and in great excess!). We'd all brought extra woolies but found the cottages - very warm! It would be hard to find any other cottages to match these. We walked, we ate, we drank, we chatted - and now we diet!! Thank you - very much!" New Year 08/09
"As promised we came back and as the saying goes - 'it's more comfortable the second time around', and guess what , we are looking forward to next year and three in a row. Our 'pretend Christmas' (it solves the problem of who is having Mum and Dad) involves all 12 of the Family and we do the full works - Turkey, sprouts, roasties etc and finished with Grannie W home made Xmas pudding and of course a little liquid refreshment. As you can imagine the kitchen is a busy place but easily met our needs and the oven cooked our 7.8 kilo turkey to perfection. Vicki and Steve were their normal wonderful selves and the young kids loved the Alpacas and Games room. A terrific family weekend in an outstanding facility. Roll on December 2009!" - early Christmas celebration - December 2008

"... the hostess trolley was most useful. Loved the themed bedrooms with resident cuddly toys" October 2008
"3rd year running - week has gone far too quickly .. hasn't lost any of it's charisma. Enjoyed walk from Barn to Matlock. Steve and Vicki made us feel very welcome. Enjoyed feeding chickens .. such a hoot when they're running for the bread. It was an experience feeding the alpacas. Kids enjoyed seeing and holding the baby chicks and seeing a newborn calf. Lovely apple pie, pickles, scones and cakes from Riber View Farm shop' just down the road." - August 2008
5 deaf-blind adults enjoying their annual vacation during 'Deaf-Blind' week , plus their helpers - "Superb barn that has comprehensively met our needs. Thank you Vicki and Steve for your hospitality and engineering solutions. With your help we have delivered a memorable holiday for all" (NB. We were able to store their bicycles including 'carriages' which hitch to the back of a bicycle. Mitch commented that our dark door surrounds against pale wall colours were particularly helpful). - June 2008
"A perfect venue for our perfect Wedding Party. Thank you Vicki and Steve for being so accommodating and making us feel so welcome and at home. Our guests all agreed with us that it is a truly beautiful place here and your attention to detail is fantastic. Thanks once again - we'll see you again soon!" - Wedding celebration (ceremony elsewhere, reception at Holestone Moor Barns) - June 2008

"Following our family tradition of spending Easter together, we are delighted to have found Holestone Moor Barns. With an extended family of 10 it's difficult to find somewhere we can all be accommodated in such comfort. The themed bedrooms were a great source of fun. We all loved the log fire and with such a foul night weather-wise (on arrival) we were so grateful to Steve for getting it going so quickly. We will have no hesitation in recommending the Barn and Stables to others and would like to thank Vicki and Steve for their unobtrusive hospitality" - The Barn and Stables, Easter 2008
"Despite sub-zero and awful winter conditions, the cottage was so warm and welcoming. Spotlessly clean and tidy. All the facilities and information you could need!" - The Stables, March 2008
"Lovely and relaxing as always. See you in September!" - The Stables, February 2008 (5th visit!)

"First time we have been (for a 30th Birthday celebration) and we were amazed at the Barn - the cleanliness and attention to detail was superb. We all loved our themed rooms, especially the 'Boudoir'. Will definitely come again, and recommend!" - The Barn, January 2008
"Wow, what a magnificent venue! Home for many happy and unforgettable memories. Warm as toast despite cloying cold outside. Beautifully furnished with amazing attention to detail. A warm generous welcome from you both and set in the panoramic grandeur of the Derbyshire Peaks - what more could anyone ask?" - The Barn, New Year 2007/8
"We've never felt as' at home' on any other holiday and we really don't want to leave. Many thanks to Vicki and Steve for making us feel so welcome" - The Stables, New Year 2007/8

"The accommodation, facilities and equipment are all of the very highest standard and very warm and comfortable on a cool weekend. The children had a great time, and the Games Room provided us with lots of fun and good family competition. Many thanks for all your efforts and very good accommodation" - The Barn and Stables, November 2007
"Well what can I say FANTASTIC 60th/Retirement party. I enjoyed every minute - what a fab surprise, and yes, Vicki and Steve, you knew all about it for AGES! We booked the cottages two years ago for this party because I wanted to be in the place I love best, surrounded by all the people I love. This visit makes our 15th! Thank you both so much for enabling us to have a wonderful time in such a beautiful place. We'll be in touch for 2008 ... yes, we are returning again!" - The Barn and Stables, November 2007
"Thank you for the use of your comfy cottage. The boys especially enjoyed the Games Room. Would certainly recommend - everything we needed for an enjoyable stay and plenty to do on your doorstep" - The Stables October 2007
"We have enjoyed our stay here VERY much - from youngest to oldest in our party in both cottages (ages 5 to 70) and really felt at home. Our most exciting adventure was a thrilling visit to the owls and falcons at Honey Bank farm (next door), when all of us held the birds and watched the amazing flying display. We saw the owls used in the Harry Potter films. thank you Vicki and Steve for your kind and warm hospitality" - The Barn and Stables, August 2007

“Well worth the two year wait to get in ... see you again soon” - February 2005

“… trying to think of some wonderful words to adequately describe your warm welcome, excellently presented barn, perfect child friendly environment and beautiful countryside, but the same well used ‘clichés’ are all that will come to mind, so you will have to settle for one BIG THANK YOU – a home from home holiday is not easily achieved but you have got it just right – change nothing!” - October 2004
