There's still plenty of space for you bring your own bits and baubles though - and Father Christmas certainly has our address so all's well!

Our luxurious new leather sofas!Busy, busy, busy

30 November 2007

We've been busy updating a few bits and bobs - we have new, luxurious, leather settees in both cottages, and now we have just finished decorating the lounge/dining/kitchen area in The Stables.

The old sofas should find new homes thanks to the lovely recycling people in Matlock.

Next stop Christmas!

Green Tourism Business Scheme

5 October 2007

At the start of October 2007, we were delighted to receive Silver in the Green Tourism Business Scheme awards. This involves our participation in lots of criteria including Energy saving, water Green Tourism Business Scheme - Silver Awardconservation, waste minimisation, wildlife conservation and landscape enhancement. We’re working on updating our ‘Green’ information, and if anyone is interested in the measures we’ve taken so far, and our immediate plans for the future, we invite you to pop over for a chat during your stay. Any suggestions that you have will be very welcome.

What the Assessors had to say ...

7 September 2007

We've had our full assessment results through now and were thrilled to read - "Holestone Moor Barns are delightful properties set in a wonderful rural location but close to local amenities. The proprietors have tried to think of everything that could be needed during a guests stay and made accommodation for it in some way, the styling of the bedrooms is causing interest and delight not only to the guests but to Vicki and Steve who obviously get huge amounts of fun and enjoyment out of coming up with the ideas and then searching for the items needed. The cottages are furnished to an excellent standard and housekeeping levels are high throughout, we wish them continued success for the year ahead."

Quality in Tourism Assessment

13 July 2007

Louise and June - our house keeping teamThursday brings our assessor from the tourist board, will it be a good visit?

And hoorah! I can't think why we worried - we passed with flying colours - retaining our five stars!

  • Overall we scored 92% for The Stables;
  • The Barn received 97% for The Barn;
  • And we're so proud of our house keeping team - AKA Louise and June (pictured on the right) - as we received 100% for cleanliness.
